Ho Bo Woods
The story begins during the most violent days of the Vietnam War in a dark and brutal square of jungle known as the Ho Bo Woods. Few escaped that man made hell. Kelly was one of the lucky ones. He got out with his life but not with his soul. He left his soul behind where it would stay for over thirty years until one day he came back to find it.
This is his story from the beginning to the very end. And both will surprise you.
This book chronicles his journey back to that beginning. It takes him to the calm of Florida beaches, sailboats, and brilliant blue waves. It takes him to the violence of a South American wilderness. It takes him to exotic cities across Europe. It books him on a flight hijacked by rabid terrorists. Along the way he encounters passion, deep and eternal love, friendship, and loyalty. And then, it takes him back to where it all began - deep in the Ho Bo Woods.
Take the ride. Take the trip. You and Kelly. You won't be disappointed and you may well meet yourself as you turn the pages of this book.

It’s a gritty book, and that’s putting it mildly. There’s a vivid scene that lets you feel the horrors of being a soldier at war that concludes with “it was just another routine day at war.” It was pretty powerful, and definitely kept me turning pages. If you are interested in fiction that explores issues such as the continuous toll of wartime experiences on the human psyche, then I highly recommend The Ho Bo Woods.

The Ho Bo Woods Kelly O'Brian edition by Coleman Mitchell Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Excellent. Hard to put down at 3 AM! A very graphic memory of Vietnam and the horrors many still remember and sufferers of PTSD relive. Great first novel; I look forward to future stories.
A credible tale of happenings in Vietnam and USA. Well worth the reading.
Great reading, Five Stars. Very riveting and evokes emotion. Mitchell's characters both minor and major are fully developed as are the details of the places and environment which the story takes place.
Great page turner! Picked it up before a day of travel and finished it the same day. Doesn't linger too long on any one genre...part war story, part mystery, part love story. Will keep you guessing till the end...
This is a story of a time in our lives that many of us don't want to remember. Coleman Mitchell captures what it was like in VN. His story tells it like it is and am sure many of those out there remember Viet Nam like this. It is not sanitized. Except for a few errors by the editor, this book is a powerful first effort by the author. I hope he writes more. Loved it.
I had the author as a university professor several times, the man is very insightful indeed. This story is touching, makes you think, and will keep your attention til the end. It's a real page-turner for sure. I really enjoyed the writing style and how the story spanned a lifetime. Pick this up- you will love it.
Yes I couldn't wait to get the book I have enjoyed reading the book cannot wait for the next issue to come out!! I feel it has told a story of a man's life and it makes you appreciate life and everything around you. My husband was a Vietnam vet and I can relate.. once you start reading the book you just can't seem to put it down it is so interesting. It starts out very strong I just can't imagine what the men and women had to go through and again it makes you really appreciate life! but the PTSD will be with you forever. Bless this writer, he did a fantastic job!! and like I said I can't wait for the next issue to come out.
